Purple Heart Print

The Purple Heart Print is an original artistic song/poem creation  written by Navy War Veteran and two time Bronze Metal Award recipient Chief Bou Roberts copyright (c) in 1967. The song/poem was put to pen and paper while Bou lie ill in his infirmary bed from blood poisoning after serving a mission in the Philippines. Bou was moved with empathy and compassion while observing every bed in his seemingly never ending rows of US boy soldiers not yet even 20 years of age as Bou described them to be half his age now that he was in his mid 30’s. Bou recalls the moments his face ran with rivers of tears for the enduring suffering from the unforgiving wounds that permanently maimed those fighting men for life. Bou Roberts family reports he was never wounded in action after serving in the Korean conflict and through to the end of the Viet Nam police action over the span of two decades. The song/poem became a memorialized talking point of Chief Bou Roberts youngest son who retired as a decorated Law Enforcement Patrol Officer/Chaplain and author of America’s II Revolution Donald J. Boulden. A II R was first printed for publication release on March 31, 2026 for the celebration of the USA 250th year of freedom from 1776 to 2026.
